RCTP leads the Family AIDS Care and Education Services (FACES) program, a comprehensive HIV
prevention, care and treatment program working in over 100 clinics in Nyanza Province, Kenya.

is a five-year cluster randomized trial to test whether universal ART
can improve health, educational, and economic outcomes.
We are going to be conducting a household census in 12 communities and annual multi-disease diagnostic health campaigns.
We will also be supporting ART delivery through FACES clinics.

Reports to: SEARCH Study Coordinator
Duty Station: Suba with frequent travel to Rongo
Duration: Annual Renewable Contract, starting June 1, 2013
Job Summary:
Overall
coordination of the multi-disease Community Health Campaign (CHC) field
laboratory and mobile RNA lab for 12 annual CHCs in 12 communities of
10,000 persons each in Nyanza, Kenya
Key Requirements:
Enrolled Pharmaceutical technologist and registered to practice with the Kenya Medical and Dentists Practitioners Board
At least 1-2 years experience in HIV services care and treatment, PMTCT, TB/HIV, PITC; mentorship training required.
Good leadership skills, inter-personal relationship and communication skills
Excellent computer skills

Interest in working in an innovative and demanding
environment with extensive travel to rural sites in southern Nyanza
Province
Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee the planning and implementation of all SEARCH pharmacy activities
Develop CHC pharmacy Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) with support from the Study Coordinator
Recruit, train and supervise laboratory staff to conduct CHC pharmacy activities according to the protocol
Detailed training on the implementation of protocols, SOPs, and data collection forms
Provide mentorship and supervision
Manage relationships with collaborating institutions and partners
Participate in the ordering of pharmacy supplies for the CHCs with appropriate use of local resources when available
Ensure effective and efficient utilization of petty cash
Ensure the CHC pharmacy activities are performed within the timeline of the study (12 campaigns/year)
Provide monthly reports on the CHCs and regularly communicate with the Study Coordinator
Other duties as specified by the investigators or Study Coordinator.
Will work closely with district pharmacist, facility in-charges,
facility staff and DHMT/HMT members to facilitate HIV services within
their facilities and the community.
Support decentralization of
PPCT and ART services to facilities in conjunction with district
coordinators, district pharmacist and entire technical team and also
ensure that adequate and appropriate HIV commodities are available in
all sites.
Provide mentorship to facility staff in all HIV
services areas, in particular record keeping using the MSH dispensing
tool, drug ordering, stock monitoring and rationale use of drugs.
Responsible for supporting good quality of care for all HIV services
within the facilities being supervised through mentorship, support
supervision and routine review of standard quality of care indicators at
the facility level.
Working with facility staff, ADMs and
M&E officers to ensure accurate and quality reporting is done
including; completion of all relevant registers, HIV related forms,
monthly reporting to main Hub, monthly reporting tools and commodity
