Strategy & Policy Officer
Reports to : Senior Officer –Strategy & Policy
Overall Job Purpose:
Reporting to the Senior Officer, Strategy and Policy, the Strategy & Policy Officer will be responsible for planning, analyzing and reviewing the impact of various policies on capital markets development and identify impediments to market development with an objective of developing appropriate policy interventions for capital markets development as well as reviewing and updating the Authority's long term strategic plans and ensuring they are aligned to the National policies.
Core Duties and Responsibilities
Carry out policy research benchmarking on international best practices to inform policy actions
Coordinate development, review and undertake monitoring and evaluation of the strategic plan and provide relevant management information.
Coordinate development, review and undertake monitoring of the Performance Contract including collating of evidence from other departments Develop and maintain a capital markets policy proposals database.
Prepare policy memorandum to Treasury on policy and fiscal incentives.
Assist in writing grant applications
Ensure submission of quarterly and annual reports to Treasury and Vision 2030
Other duties as may be assigned from time to time
Minimum Qualifications
Degree in Economics, Finance, Strategic Management, Business Administration, Policy Analysis or related field.
Minimum of two (2) years of relevant work experience, preferably in public policy analysis or monitoring & evaluation of strategy implementation in a research institution, government agency, or a private entity
Knowledge of the capital markets and good understanding and network of public and private policy research institutions and regulators within the financial sector.
