Kenyan celebrities are followed everywhere. They influence the public on what to buy, on politics, and st the stage for public discussion. Major businesses have realized this, and are now using these celebrities to advance their brands. Here are five of them.
1. Paul Tergat- Johnny Walker, Keep Walking.
Paul Tergat is a veteran of the marathon, 5,000m, and 10,000 m. He features on the advert of Jonny Walker, keep walking, drawing on his running talent to pursuad crowds. You can be sure that a huge cheque was
signed for him to do that.
2. Wahu- Rexona.
Wahu appeals to many women and girls. She would be the prefect person to advance the Rexona brand, given that she is both a lady and a mother also. Rumours are that she is paged.
3. Juliani- Safaricom.
Juliani is the go to person when Bob Collymore needs to visit Eastlando. This close connection has landed Juliani many Safaricom outdoor gigs, and seven figure cheques that come with that.
4. Alfred Yego- Orange Internet.
Alfred Yego took part in Javelin in last year's Olympic games, reaching the finals. Even though he didn't win a medal, he set the stage for Kenyans to diversify their sports and take more part in field events, rather than in only field middle and long distance races. Orange has tapped into this, and shown that just as Yego used You Tube to learn about javelin, you too can learn a lot by using Orange internet.
5. David Rudisha- Handwash Gel.
The world 800m record holder and reigning Olympic champion has broken many records, but both started when he began using the hand washing gel, so goes the advert. If Rudisha competes with Usain Bolt in the 400m and wins, you can be sure that more million shilling endorsement deals will be coming his way.
