Safaricom, Yu, and Airtel net more subscribers.

In a sign that the mobile phone market is still not saturated, mobile phone companies Safaricom, Essar Yu, and Airtel have netted more customers in the past three months, a report from CCK shows. Only Telkom Orange lost subscribers in the past three months. Safaricom is still the market leader, at just over 65 percent, followed by Yu and Orange at 10 percent and 9 percent respectively. Airtel’s market share is about 15 percent.
More phone subscribes are accessing internet on their mobile phones, principally to access news and social sites, a move that has seen service providers rush to cater special data products.
