Nigeria’s richest man set to build oil refinery.

Nigeria’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, has unveiled plans to build the biggest oil refinery in Nigeria. According to Forbes magazine, the Nigerian is worth 16 billion dollars, largely accumulated for his monopoly of the cement industry in Nigeria, something that has earned him friends in very high places. He hopes to
inject 8 billion dollars- half his fortune, of his own money into the project. If successful, the refinery could supply oil to much of Sub-Saharan Africa. It is ironical that Nigeria, Africa’s richest oil producer, imports all its oil, since it doesn’t have refineries to process oil.
