A leading regional bank listed on the Nairobi Securities Exchange with a focus on SME sector and 69 branches countrywide, is looking to fill the role of Human Resource Officer.

This role will report directly to the Head, Branches & Alternate Channels

Job Purpose/Summary
The Human Resource Officer will provide support on the full spectrum of human resources function including staffing, performance management, employee welfare and relations.The jobholder will coordinate all human resources management activities of the organisation in order to retain the best talent available to achieve the desired results for the organisation and all stakeholders.

Duties and Responsibilities

•    Implement human resource policy and practice that are in compliance with the law to attract, retain and develop key resources for the business.
•    Update HR policies in keeping with changing business and legislative environment.
•    Review and standardize job profiles and descriptions.
•    Plan and coordinate staff recruitment, selection and exit as need arise.
•    Monitor induction of new staff, their probation and confirmation-monthly.
•    Ensure all employees have the necessary statutory registration for PAYE, NSSF and NHIF
•    Manage the disciplinary and grievance process and ensure a harmonious working environment
•    Develop and implement a human resources plan, personnel management policies and procedures
•    Manage staff leaves by having them approved and filed in the employee’s personal files
•    Implement an effective and efficient performance management system.
•    Prepare periodic (weekly, monthly, quarterly etc.) management and ad hoc reports
•    Provide advice and support to line managers on HR issues that arise day- to- day.
•    Provide support to team members, branches and customers on specialist card related issues

Required Qualifications
•    A degree in Business Administration/Management preferably in Human Resource Management
•    A higher national diploma in HR
•    Minimum of 4-5years’ experience in a busy HR work environment on a similar capacity
•    Proven history in performance management
•    Conversant with the Kenyan’s labour laws
•    Be computer literate with working knowledge of HR Information System, MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint all at intermediate Level
