President Uhuru Kenyatta has named 4 out of 18 cabinet secretaries, but from the few names, his administration is intent on ushering in an age of professionalism. here are some of their profiles:
1. Henry K. Rotich- National Treasury.
Mr. Rotich has workd within Treasury for close to twenty years, rising through the ranks in many economic and Finance positions within Treasury. His move is seen as a natural career progression, culminating to a Treasury secretary.
2. Amina Mohamed.
Amina Mohamed is one of Kenya's most gifted diplomats, and was recently the African nominee for an influential post at the World Trade Organisation- WTO. Perhaps, this will be a better role for her, as she seeks to implemnt th very issues she travelled the world advocating.
3. James Wainaina Macharia.
Mr. Macharia will head the crucial health docket, but some analysts are lamenting that his lack of a health background would be a limiting factor. However, even the current CEO of kenyatta national Hospital,
Leisami, is afrom an administration background, and he ahs steered the hosital just fine.
4. Fred Okeng'o Matiani
Mr. Matiani has a background in the civil society and aid industry, and is expected to bring his leadership skills to the IT sector which is one of the key sectors expected to drive the economy forward.
