Tullow Kenya BV is seeking to appoint the following positions:

Civil Engineering Coordinator
 
Job Purpose: 

You will coordinate civil works for Tullow Kenya’s exploration activities in Northern Kenya. 

You will also manage various activities related to civil works and stake holders (Consultants, Contractors, Field Engineers / Supervisor and Tullow Head office) by providing leadership, guidance and support to the team so as to ensure timely completion of projects within the agreed schedule , budget and in line with the Company’s standards.
 
The Civil Engineering Coordinator will coordinate all aspects of Tullow’s civil projects in the field and manage the interface with local stakeholders and local government agencies regarding civil works. 

He/she will perform a key role in project planning, budgeting, and identification of resources; manage the team of Field Engineers/ Supervisors who oversee the civil works at the sites; ensure that construction activities are completed within the agreed timeline and budget. 

You will also provide Technical support and guidance to the Field Engineers and ensure that they maintain a proper record of actual site activities.

Requirements: 
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Civil engineering with a minimum 10 years of experience in construction projects. 
  • Excellent communication skills; good understanding of construction industry and contract law; thorough knowledge of construction safety standards is essential. 
  • Proven team leading skills. 
  • Capacity to motivate, lead and boost morale of the teams; strong focus on environment, health and safety; excellent and proven stakeholder management skills.
Logistics Officer

Job Purpose:
You will manage the delivery of a reliable and consistent clearing and forwarding service for all imports and exports supporting the Tullow Kenya Drilling and Seismic Operations. 

You will apply your expertise and creativity in finding the best ways of interacting with Kenya Government agencies, Tullow Mombasa and Clearing and Forwarding Agents to overcome obstacles and implement documented solutions effectively.
 
The Logistics Officer will manage the process and records for all Imports and Exports for Air, Sea and Road movements.

He/she will implement high standard shipping documents that focus on detail, standards, priorities, service options and requirements considering International transport, clearing and forwarding and legislation; this will include maintaining a register of all materials. 

You will also manage the Kenyan and International Clearing & Forwarding Contractors and will attend to all issues related to clearing & forwarding. 

You will provide support to project teams for movement of project materials between international locations and Kenya.

Requirements: 
  • Advanced Diploma or Diploma in Logistics or its equivalent and a minimum 5- 10 Years experience in
    clearing and forwarding with extensive background in clearing & forwarding of Oilfield or other heavy equipment in/out of Kenya. 
  • Technical knowledge or background in oilfield operations and a desire to learn more via internal and external training. 
  • Training on IMDG, IATA Dangerous Goods Handling. 
  • Good communicator; aware of the EHS policies and procedures in all aspects of Supply Chain.
Field Civil Supervisor
Job Purpose:
You will supervise civil contractors and construction work in Northern Kenya to ensure that the construction work is completed safely, on time within the budget and adhering to Tullow standards. 

The construction projects will include well sites, access roads and water well, camp sites, buildings, access roads, airstrips, water wells and pipelines, water treatment and wastewater handling systems and sites.
 
The Field Civil Supervisor will be responsible for supervision of the operations of contractors on site on the project design, construction, operation and maintenance. 

You will also provide direction to contractors and assist them plan utilization of their resources between projects to optimize work schedules including budget control and management.
 
You will provide reports and supporting information to Field Civil Coordinator, ensuring that the reports, records, timesheets, and invoices are up to date and properly filed while ensuring the safety and safety standards are properly implemented.

Requirements: 
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Civil engineering with a minimum of 5 years of experience in construction projects. 
  • Excellent communication skills; good understanding of construction industry and Contract law.
  • Excellent team worker; ability to plan and organize; high focus on environment, health and safety; good verbal and written communication skills; 
  • strong communication skills both verbally and written and strong focus on quality.
Customs & Exemption Officer
Job Purpose:
You will deliver a reliable and consistent clearing and forwarding service for all imports and exports to support Tullow Kenya Drilling Campaign.

You will apply your expertise and creativity in finding the best ways of interacting with Kenya Government agencies, Tullow Mombasa and Clearing and Forwarding Agents to overcome obstacles and implement documented solutions effectively.
 
The Customs & Exemption Officer will implement and support an efficient Tullow Kenya drilling campaign record for all Imports and Exports for Aviation, Sea, Road and Rail freight deliveries and dispatches. He/she will implement high standard shipping documents that focus on detail, standards, priorities, service options and requirements considering Local and International Transport and clearing and forwarding, legislation. 

He/she will ensure a register is maintained for all material arriving in country by Sea, Air and road and illustrates condition of Import (Temporary or permanent with all shipping details) and will also be the first point of contact for all Clearing & Forwarding issues including dealing with Government agents.

Requirements: 
  • Higher Diploma/Diploma in Clearing and Forwarding or its equivalent and a minimum of 5 Years experience with extensive background in clearing & forwarding of Oilfield or other heavy equipment in and out of Kenya.
  • Technical knowledge in IMDG, IATA Dangerous Goods Handling. 
  • Good communicator; conversant with EHS policies and procedures in all aspects of Supply Chain.
