(Finance Planning and Development Division)
School of Law
Legal Aid Clinic - Programmes Manager
Applicants must be holders of an LLM degree in the relevant field from a recognized university.
In addition applicants should have the following:
At least four (4) years post-admission experience as an Advocate
Interest in listening and working with Kenyans face to face on legal issues Good interpersonal skills
Good organizational skills
Good managerial skills
Good research capability
Passion for mentoring Law students in the endeavours of the Legal Aid Clinic
Ability to negotiate astutely with potential public of the Legal Aid Clinic
The responsibilities of the Programmes Manager include the following:
To manage day to day affairs of the Legal Aid Clinic efficiently and in accordance with the agreed directions of the Management Committee
Development of the necessary information, education and communication material (IEC) needed to start off the operations of the Legal Aid Clinic. This includes a handbook of the Legal Aid Clinic, relevant brochures and posters for the benefit of the students and clients of the Legal Aid Clinic
Terms of Service:
The terms of service for the above include a generous medical scheme, house allowance and commuting allowance.
Successful candidates will be offered two (2) year renewable performance based contract and gratuity will be paid at the end of the contract.

Copies of certificates and testimonials should also be enclosed giving the names and addresses of three (3) referees who are conversant with the applicant’s competence in area of specialization.
