Our client is an international oil & gas company with operations in
Africa, Europe, South Asia & South America. As the company prepares
for further exploration and appraisal activities, they are seeking to
appoint the Treasury Accountant:
Purpose of the job:
Reporting to the Deputy Finance Manager; The Treasury Accountant will safeguard the company’s cash through enforcement of treasury control procedures. He/she will prepare timely and accurate accounting reports including reconciliations for review by the deputy finance manager.

• Posting payments and other bank entries to the ledgers.
• Preparation of bank reconciliation statements.
• Managing day to day relationship with the bank including updating bank mandates in accordance with
group guidelines as required.Purpose of the job:

• Preparation of weekly cash balance report and advice of inter account transfers as required.
• Processing payments to local and foreign suppliers accurately and timely.
• Posting of local and foreign payment to the online banking system & seeking payment approval expeditiously.
• Handling all office petty cash.
• Posting and reconciling petty cash to the petty cash ledger.
• Payroll preparation, payment processing and posting in the ledger.
• Processing payment for VAT, WHT, PAYE & other taxes in consultation with the tax advisor.
• Submission of group treasury reports as and when required.
• Assist in audit file preparation.
• Other ad-hoc projects that may be required from time to time.
Skills and competencies
• Degree and CPA/ACCA qualification.
• At least 3 years working experience in a similar role.
• Experience of working in the upstream oil and gas industry would be an added advantage.
• High attention to detail and quality, ‘first right time’ approach
• Good presentation skills.
• Confidentiality and high integrity.
• Able to work with minimum supervision.
• Good communication skills to deal with suppliers, banks and other internal and external stakeholders.
