CRISPP Project Positions
Applications are invited for the following positions:-
The
University of Nairobi’s School of Medicine, through the Department of
Clinical Medicine and Therapeutics, College of Health Sciences, has
received funding from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
to support the implementation of high quality, equitable, accessible,
sustainable and comprehensive HIV prevention, care and treatment and
support services in Nairobi and Central Kenya regions.
To achieve this objective, the Project seeks to fill the following positions.
Secretary

Location: Nairobi
Applicants must be holders of a KCSE Grade C or its equivalent qualification with at least a C in English.
In addition, they must possess a Diploma in Secretarial Studies or Business Administration from a recognized institution and must have passed the following subjects offered by the Kenya National Examinations Council or equivalent examining body: Business English II, Commerce II, Secretarial Duties II, Office Management
III, Shorthand 80 wpm or Audio Typing III and Typewriting 50 wpm. They must be computer literate.
Applicants with prior experience of working in health projects environment will have an added advantage.
Office Assistant

They should have good communication and inter-personal skills.
The successful candidate will undertake messengerial, office cleanliness and other duties as may be assigned.
Laboratory Technologist

Location: Kiambu / Kerugoya
Applicants should be in
possession of a bachelor’s degree in medical laboratory
technology/science with a minimum of 2 years experience in a busy
clinical laboratory and should be registered with the Kenya Medical
Laboratory Technologists and Technicians Board (KMLTTB); and be computer
literate.
Those with HND in medical
laboratory technology and at least 3 years experience in a busy
clinical laboratory will also be considered.
Additional certification in GCLP and laboratory quality systems will have a distinct advantage.
The successful candidate will:
- Work in partnership with partner laboratories, quality assurance and quality control in the laboratory, leading to accreditation with internationally recognized standards.
- Participate in internal and external quality assurance programmes.
- Establish and maintain systems for implementation of laboratory activities: Planning introduction of new diagnostic procedures, monitoring and evaluation.
- Ensure quality procedures are maintained in the pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical phases of specimens processing.
- Participate in development and review of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Development of bio-safety programmes in the laboratory.
- Supervise and mentor Medical laboratory Technologists in satellite project laboratories.
- Implementation of commodity management practices to ensure regular and consistent supply of equipment and laboratory consumable.
Clinical Officers

Location: Kimbimbi / Kerugoya
The ideal candidate must
be in possession of a minimum of a diploma in clinical medicine with
expertise in Paediatric/Adult ART management and/or counseling with 3
years working experience in the field of HIV Care & Treatment.
In addition, they must be registered, have excellent verbal and written communications skills and be computer literate.
The successful candidate
will: Provide clinical services for all HIV infected adults &
children in satellite facilities weekly or twice in a month ensuring
appropriate care, proper lab monitoring, proper use & reporting of
ARVs & other OI drugs as well as documentation.
Strengthen documentation
& reporting of HIV care activities by ensuring patient charts are
correctly and fully completed and maintenance of requisite registers at
all services delivery points at the facility.
Provide mentorship to
nurses and other health care workers providers on the management of HIV
and documentation regarding: On-job mentorship sessions, CME trainings
and participation in MDT meetings in supported sites.
Summarize and submit monthly case summaries for discussion and documentation of best practices and lessons learnt.
Work with the CBTS
Coordinator to create and strengthen linkages between the health
facility and the community in line with defaulter tracing and
psychosocial support.
Delivery of effective and efficient quality PMTCT services at the health facilities.
Supply Chain Co-ordinator

Location: Nairobi with frequent field travel
The Supply Chain
Coordinator will be responsible for providing mentorship to partner
organizations in all aspects related to health commodities management.
Applicant should be holders of at least a Diploma in Pharmacy.
Those with additional training in operations or supplies and logistics management will have a distinct advantage.
In addition they should
possess 3 years experience in the design, implementation and evaluation
of health related supply chain management systems including
pharmaceuticals and diagnostic supplies.
