Reporting to the Personnel Director, the Personnel Officer shall be responsible for providing support in the various human resource functions, which include recruitment, staffing, training and
development, performance monitoring and employee counseling.
Spearheading the review and formulation of new and old policies

Job Description:
Reporting to the Personnel Director, the Personnel Officer shall be responsible for providing support in the various human resource functions, which include recruitment, staffing, training and
development, performance monitoring and employee counseling.
Spearheading the review and formulation of new and old policies
Spearheading recruitment and selection of employees
Playing an advisory role to the Heads of Education Institutions, Unit Managers of Health Institutions, Parish Priests and Programme Heads.
Carrying out training needs for staff both at Diocesan Secretariat and institutions.
Managing performance management systems in the secretariat
Principal advisor of the Diocese on Human Resource related issues
Handling grievances of employees both in the secretariat and also in the institutions
Ensuring that the Diocese and other institutions are registered in time and compliance of the same with the relevant bodies
Maintaining and updating Human Resource records and ensuring utmost confidentiality of the same
Requirements:
Should possess at least a University degree preferably either in Human Resource or any other Social Science.
Higher Diploma in HR from a recognized institution.
Strong administration and organizational skills.
3 to 4 years work experience in similar role
The ability to work as part of a team.
Should be well versed and conversant with the new labour laws
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work in a highly confidential environment
Ability to work effectively under pressure.
Strong beliefs and practices deep commitment to ideals, values and Social Teachings of the Catholic Church is a must
Strong intellectual, analytical and decision making abilities
Must have a valid driving license
Should have good writing, reporting and communication skills
