Summary: A medium sized Cheese production company seeks a production manager.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
    Bachelor’s degree (BS or BA) from a four-year college or university
    Minimum 18 years and above of related experience
    Minimum of 7 years technical Dairy manufacturing and sanitation experience.
    Minimum of 2 years Cheese manufacturing experience
    Good understanding of costs relating to Dairy manufacturing and packaging. (Budgetary experience preferred)
    Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.
    Ability to work different shifts and provide supervisory coverage as needed.
    Strong communication skills and interpersonal skills.
    Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
    Must be self-motivated, results oriented, possess high degree of initiative, and work well under pressure.
    Must be able to work effectively in a multi-tasking work environment and prioritize workload.
    Must be able to work independently with minimum supervision and have the ability to interact positively with others within the department and the organization.
    Demonstrated excellent performance of work within the department.

Job Duties:
    Responsible for the overall performance of the Production, Packaging and Whey Departments while focusing on Cost, Quality, Safety and Employee Environment.
    Provide leadership, direction, and guidance to production and packaging personnel and supervisory team. Develop supervisory team skills and abilities to support the plant.
    Develop and improve the manufacturing processes with the assistance of Tech Services and the Plant Manager.
    Monitor and control departmental costs in comparison with budgetary objectives.
    Organize and plan daily/weekly production schedules.
    Communicate with all employees to coordinate operations.
    Schedule the optimum amount of supervisory coverage and ensure personnel coverage to meet the labor standards determined by the product schedule and budget. Provide supervisory coverage on different shifts as needed.
    Monitor and oversee the quality of the finished product by maintaining the equipment and facility in a sanitary condition.
    Trouble-shoot and lead problem-solving efforts through the facilitation of team meetings and on-the-floor leadership to effectively change systems and procedures through the process of continuous improvement.
    Perform miscellaneous duties and responsibilities as deemed necessary.
