CIAT is seeking a Research Assistant with the main responsibility of providing technical support to the AGMIP and Africa Rising projects within the Soils Research Area.

CIAT is seeking a Research Assistant with the main responsibility of providing technical support to the AGMIP and Africa Rising projects within the Soils Research Area.
Main responsibilities include: Prepare monthly newsletter on the most current climate change and modeling issues
Assist in organizing meetings and training workshops
Collect and quality control agronomic survey datasets
Maintain and continuously update agronomic database and the existing AfSIS database

Participate in data analysis and preparation of reports and manuscripts
Coordinate sample and data flows between field and laboratory
The candidate shall have the following competencies, skills and experience:
Master’s Degree in Agriculture, Soil Science or Environmental Studies
3 years’ experience with proven ability to work with large datasets
Data analysis skills and familiarity with different data analysis tools
Good communication and report writing capabilities
Publications or submissions for publication ¡n a peer reviewed journal will be an advantage
Terms of employment:
The position is nationally recruited and will be based at the CIAT Offices in Nairobi, Kenya.
The contract will be for a one-year period, subject to a probation period of three (3) months, renewable depending on performance and availability of resources.
