Head of Human Resources
Reporting to the Managing Director, the main role of this position is to formulate, drive and operationalize the Human Resource strategy, and all associated policies, programmes and activities to
ensure that the Human Resources Department contributes to the strategic direction and achievement of objectives of the company.
Principal Accountabilities:
Formulates, maintains and co-ordinates strategies, policies and procedures on all matters relating to human
resources management in the
company and ensures that there is strict adherence and uniform

ensure that the Human Resources Department contributes to the strategic direction and achievement of objectives of the company.
Principal Accountabilities:
Formulates, maintains and co-ordinates strategies, policies and procedures on all matters relating to human
Develop and maintain an HRIS that minimises transactional duties of HR, and the accuracy of data contained in the HR Information Systems.
Ensures Umeme structure and design of work are optimised and supported by business-relevant Job Descriptions, up to date with new JDs created as and when necessary.
Prepares HR budget and ensures the HR costs are managed within budget.
Qualifications, Experience and knowledge:
Be a holder of Bachelor’s degree in a business related field
Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource
At least 5 years’ managerial experience in a large commercial organization
Membership of HR professional body in Uganda.
Strong leadership, motivation and managerial skills
Knowledge of the region’s Employment and Labour Laws
