Celtic midfielder Victor Wanyama will captain Kenya's
Harambee Stars when they take on Nigeria 'Super Eagles' in a 2014
World Cup qualifier at Kasarani on Wednesday (June 5).
In an interview with Goal.com, Harambee Stars coach Adel Amrouche said that the
powerful midfield star,
will stand in for suspended striker Dennis Oliech.
"Wanyama will wear the armband when Kenya
plays Nigeria
on Wednesday," said Amrouche. "He (Wanyama) has experience and the
ability to lead the rest of the squad now that Oliech is suspended."
"We need a player who can control the rest and Wanyama fits the bill. He
will take charge against the African champions and I am very optimistic that he
has the abilities to deliver in the new role."
