The Kenya Broadcasting Corporation seeks to recruit a dynamic, self driven, result oriented professional to fill the following senior position in its establishment.
Chief System’s Administrator - 1 Post
The job purpose
To maintain computing environment by identifying system requirements; installing upgrades and
monitoring system performance.
To develop, install, maintain, and support use of all Corporations’ ICT server systems infrastructure and software.
To identify and analyze user requirements and develop and deploy appropriate solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Establish systems’ specifications by conferring with users; analyzing workflow, access, information, and security requirements; designing system infrastructure.
Establish systems by planning and executing the selection, installation, configuration, and testing of PC and server hardware, software, LAN and WAN networks, and operating and system management systems; defining system and operational policies and procedures.
Maintain systems performance by performing system monitoring and analysis, and performance tuning; troubleshooting system hardware, software, networks and operating and system management systems; designing and running system load/stress testing; escalating application problems to vendor.
Secures systems by developing system access, monitoring, control, and evaluation; establishing and testing disaster recovery policies and procedures; completing back-ups; maintaining documentation.
Prepares users by designing and conducting training programs; providing references and support.
Upgrade systems by conferring with vendors and services; developing, testing, evaluating, and installing enhancements and new software.
Protect organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
Qualifications
At least Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or equivalent qualifications
Proficiency in common computer operating systems i.e.( Linux,Ms Windows, and Enterprise Resource Planning Applications software e.g. syspro
At least three years experience in a busy environment.
Certification in systems administration will be an added advantage
