governed by the French law and has its head quarters in Paris, France.

ACTED Kenya is looking for an experienced self driven and a self oriented professional to fill the post of two Field Assistants to be based in Rhamu, Mandera County.

Key Responsibilities and Duties
The Field Assistants support the effective implementation of ACTED’s interventions by:
•    conducting research and project-related assessments;
•    developing and promoting the use of information and data management systems;
•    facilitating information-sharing and the translation of lessons learned into improved practice;
•    Ensuring that research is effectively linked to good programme design and implementation in order to bring about changes in policy and practice.
•    Collect relevant beneficiaries’ data in the project areas.
•    Liaise with FV shops and collect redeemed voucher data on a monthly basis.
•    Liaise with Seed / grain management committees and take stock of the seed/ grain on a monthly basis.
•    Organize and provide training in stock management and supply linkages/ plantation, production, harvest and distribution of seeds/ livestock and pasture management/ agriculture techniques and business skills 
•    Oversee the implementation of the project activities

Required Profile
•    Bachelors of science, Project Management, Community Development or a related field
•    Excellent knowledge on stock management and supply linkages; plantation, production, harvest and distribution of seeds/ livestock and pasture management; agriculture techniques and business skills
•    Excellent skills in project cycle & drought management;
•    Experience in providing training to populations in rural areas
•    The ability to write clear, meticulous and analytically-sound reports and memos in English
•    Good communication skills and diplomacy, including respectfulness and tact towards international and national staff, conflict-affected and rural communities
•    Respect for authority and the chain of command
•    Flexibility and adaptability are essential, as well as the ability to plan, take initiative and organize work independently.
•    Thoroughness in all aspects of work, especially to ensure complete and useful data collection and reports;
•    Competency in all computer-related tasks including Word, Excel (in particular filters, links and other logical functions) and E-mail is required. Skills and experience using word and Excel is essential.
•    Ability and willingness to travel to the field for data collection, cross-checking the data and provide training
•    Fluency in both English and Somali is required. Skills in Kiswahili and Borana language  is desirable
