WhatsApp Has More Users than Twitter, now approaching Facebook.

The Smartphone messaging app, WhatsApp, has more users than Twitter, its boss, Jan Koum claims.
Speaking at a mobile technology conference in New York, Mr Koum said he had no plans yet to cash in on its sizable user base through traditional advertising means.

The app, which allows smartphone users to send free texts, pictures, and videos, currently charges one dollar per year (Kshs.85). However, it has not spread wide apart from North America and Europe.
WhatsApp's meteoric success over the last four years has stoked speculation that Google or Facebook could make a big money move to snap up the company, similar to the money that Facebook splashed on the photo sharing website, instagram.
