Data Processing Manager - Pan Africa Hub
This role exists to provide the overall direction, coordination, planning, and operation of the Data Processing Centre.
The
role holder schedules and directs day to day operations of core
processing systems and the data processing production environment to
ensure efficient, effective, and timely service is provided.
He
or she also works closely with clients and Project Managers on a variety
of issues and projects and performs direct supervisory duties of
department staff.
Key responsibilities include:
Participate in job set-up meetings to ensure clear understanding of data processing requirements
Advice Line Manager or Research Executives on estimated time required to complete a job and other key timings
Coach and mentor Senior Data Processing Executives on people management and technical aspects
Monitor and assist in organization the delivery of complex projects and resolve problems swiftly
Translating the needs of the client/ Project Managers into instructions
for DP and for the production vendor (and vice-versa)
Work allocation to the various teams
Prepare tables check for consistency, accuracy and logic
Hand over tables to Executive in format required
Manage error-free creation of data for projects within specified time, resource and budget restrictions
Offer solutions and alternatives when problems arise
Develop and maintain program delivery schedules
Identify training needs of the DP staff and ensure that they are trained in all the relevant areas
Communication particularly with regard to progress on achieving deadlines
The Person:
To be successful in this role you will have:
First Degree in Mathematics/Statistics or a relevant business related
field. A postgraduate qualification in data management will be an added
advantaged
A minimum of 5 years experience in a full service
market research company with at least 3 years experience as a Senior
Data Processing Executive
Logical mindset and good technical problem solving skills (key requirement)
Team management and work scheduling experience
Strong Data Analysis skills with proficiency in SPSS, Quanvert and Quantum
Proficiency in creating new processes by being able to evaluate existing, and developing new solutions as needed
Outstanding Communication and Leadership skills
Strong People Development skills
Sound trouble-shooting skills
Exceptional time management skills
The ability to build strong links with the rest of the business
Commitment to exceptional client service
Strong analytical, organizational and problem solving skills
Self-driven, results-oriented with a positive outlook
Ability to work under pressure and meet aggressive deadlines
High integrity
