Job Purpose
Provides financial information to management by researching and analyzing accounting data;
preparing reports and maintaining a strong internal control environment.
Duties:
Maintain accounting/internal control systems, discuss and recommend improvements to policies and procedures, ensuring accuracy of accounting data and performing internal audit for MercyUSA.
Coordinate donor financial reporting and reconciling donor reports with QuickBooks reports on regular
basis. Proactively liquidate donor advances and put
funds requests for different projects to ensure smooth implementation of

Job Purpose
Provides financial information to management by researching and analyzing accounting data;
preparing reports and maintaining a strong internal control environment.
Duties:
Maintain accounting/internal control systems, discuss and recommend improvements to policies and procedures, ensuring accuracy of accounting data and performing internal audit for MercyUSA.
Coordinate donor financial reporting and reconciling donor reports with QuickBooks reports on regular
Keep custody, understand and implement grant agreements/contracts requirements and further organize training for finance and non-finance staff on the requirements of donor agreements and ensure that such requirements are also established within the organization’s internal control systems.
Coordinate government and government agents’ returns including tax remittances, quarterly and yearly returns and NGO Board returns.
Follow up with Logistics regarding in-kind donation materials and agreements.
Substantiate financial transactions by confirming all supporting documentations.
Liaising with External auditors and answering queries on financial matters.
Performing reconciliations for all bank and cash accounts..
Ensuring Interbank transfers are done accurately and reconciled on monthly basis.
Build the capacity of Sub offices by undertaking training needs analysis and organizing trainings for finance staff.
Provide day to day support to the sub offices
Carry out other duties as required and requested by the Finance Director
Job Requirements
University degree in Bachelor of Commerce Accounting option or other business related field with extensive experience in financial management preferably with INGO in a busy office.
Holder of CPA 2 minimum.
Hands on experience with quick books and/or other financial software.
Well developed interpersonal and team skills and proven ability to be flexible in demanding situations.
Strategic thinking and management
Ability to work both independently, and as part of a team.
Ability to work on own initiative and with minimal supervision.
Computer literate with fluency of Microsoft Word, Excel, internet and email packages
Good communication skills
Report writing-ability to analyse and interpret data and write reports to a high technical standard
Problem solving skills
