Program Description: The
Research Care and Training Program (RCTP), is collaboration between
Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI), University of California, San
Francisco (UCSF) and University of Washington (UW).
RCTP leads
the Family AIDS Care and Education Services (FACES) program, a
comprehensive HIV prevention, care and treatment program working in over
100 clinics in Nyanza Province, Kenya.
RCTP is seeking a motivated individual to fill the
following vacancy for Sustainable East African Research for Community
Health (SEARCH).
SEARCH is a five year cluster randomized trial
to test whether universal ART can improve health, educational, and
economic outcomes.
We are going to be conducting a household census in 12 communities and annual multi-disease diagnostic
health campaigns.
We will also be supporting ART delivery through FACES clinics.

Duty Station: Suba with frequent travel to Rongo
Duration: Annual appointment,
Job Summary: Design, monitor, and coordinate data, communications, and IT systems for the SEARCH study.
Key Requirements:
Education
Diploma in IT or related disciplines
Certificates in community work is an added advantage
Prior Work Experience
At least one (1) years’ relevant post-qualification experience
Previous experience in a clinical research trial will be an added advantage
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong analytical skills to identify and diagnose problems
Knowledge in tablet computers, finger print scanners technology
Knowledge in relational database development required
knowledge on mySQL is an added advantage
Self-motivated, hardworking with good interpersonal skills
Must have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work a s a team.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Installation and maintenance of computer, tablet, and fingerprint
scanners Installation of tablet soft wares and configuration of hardware
systems
Assistance in project implementation and system deployment
Technical support to end-users
Liaison with vendors and services providers
Engage in practical research and initiate ideas that promote system availability & performance
