National Housing Corporation (NHC) is a statutory body constituted under the Housing Act Cap 1 17 Laws of Kenya.

The Corporation invites applications from suitably qualified Kenyan citizens to fill the following positions:

Senior Artisan/Electrician:
REF NHC/SAE/O4/2OI3
Reporting to the Electrical Engineer the Senior Artisan/Electrician will be responsible for the following:
    Installation, testing, inspection and maintenance of electrical systems in all NHC premises.    Diagnose malfunctioning electrical systems and components to locate causes of breakdowns and correct problems.
    Advising the Electrical Engineer on the status of all electrical equipments, systems and wiring.
    Routine servicing of the generator as per the maintenance manual.
    Preparation of electrical installation layout sketches and cost estimates for electrical wiring in conformance with relevant building codes.
    Responsible for follow up of electrical certification by external bodies like KPLC.

For appointment to this position the candidate must:
    Be in possession of a Diploma in Electrical Engineering (power option) or Technical II or final craft in Electrical Installation certificate from KNEC
    Possess O’level mean grade of D+
    Have nine (9) years experience in Electrical Installation and Maintenance with six (6) years experience after attaining craft III or Technician II or equivalent
    Be ¡n possession of a valid Electrician license from ERC
    Be computer literate and a team player
The positions are on Permanent and Pensionable terms and the successful candidates will be subject to performance contracting.
