Job Description

This position will be critical for receiving payments from customers. The cashier will be responsible to
the Financial Accountant for serving customers in the cash office.

Specific duties and responsibilities
will entail:
    Receiving and receipting payments from customers and updating customer’s accounts;
    Paying out petty cash and maintaining petty cash account;
    Posting post dated cheques to the system and ensuring that the postdated cheques register is up to date and ensuring safe custody of the postdated cheques.
    Daily banking of cash and cheques;
    Reconciling petty cash, cash in hand and m-pesa accounts;
    Making cash payments;
    Withdrawing of cash, collecting cheque books, presenting RTGS and collecting unpaid cheques; and
    Safe keeping of unbanked cash and cheques.

Job Specifications

For appointment to the position of a cashier, an officer must have:
    Served in a comparable position and have relevant working experience of two (2) years in Accounts;
    Bachelors degree in a business related field
    A pass in CPA II from a recognized institution;
    A Certificate in Computer Applications (Windows, Ms-Word, Ms-Excel, Ms-Access, Internet and Accounting software especially Navision) from a recognized institution.
