University of Nairobi Masters Scholarships.

Seven Masters research Field Scholarships available at Wangari Maathai Institute.
The STAKE PROJECT based at Wangari Maathai Institute http://wmi.uonbi.ac.ke/ invites applications for Masters Research scholarships. The scholarship will meet research costs in accordance to the approved proposal budget and endorsement by supervisors but will not pay for university fees. The selected candidates must work within one of the listed sub-project in Mau complex ecosystem.
Sub-Project
Sub-Project 1:  (SP1) Forest Act 2005, Customary Laws and Practices
Sub-Project 2:  (SP2) Forest Related Conflicts in Mau
 Sub-Project 3:  (SP3) Household-Level Study of Livelihoods and Attitudes

The prospective candidates must:
1. Be holders of a relevant Bachelor’s degree of the University of Nairobi or equivalent qualifications from
another institution recognized by the University of Nairobi Senate. Evidence of Appropriate education background must be produced on application.
2. Produce evidence of admission to a department of the University of Nairobi.
3. Have a proposal related to one of the sub-project indicated above
4. An innovative proposal from a student registered at a university recognized by the Senate of the University of Nairobi will be considered for funding.
Applications must be received by April 30, 2013.
The application document must be submitted online only to wmi@uonbi.ac.ke and must include the following:
• Letters of application indicating the preferred sub-project (SP), interest and rationale for the interest in the sub-project theme (max 2 pages Arial font 12)
• CV
• Certified academic transcripts
• Letter from academic referee sent directly to wmi@uonbi.ac.ke
• Proposal on the proposed sub-project (Title, Introduction, statement of the research problem, research questions, Objective, Conceptual framework and Methodology)
Indicate on the E-mail subject; Master application sub-project (SP1, SP2, SP3) and your name.
Example: E-mail Subject: Masters Appl. SP2: Mainu J.
