Engineering Jobs in Kenya 2013. Clerk of Works
Operations Division

Duties and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Operations Director, the jobholder will supervise construction of preliminaries, builder’s, electrical, mechanical, external and civil works; and ensure adherence by the contractor to the contract designs and specifications on behalf of the University.

He /She will be responsible for ensuring that high standards of quality control arc maintained through
monitoring of construction, contract progress, procedures. workmanship, schedules and the overall lob safety as well as effective coordination between the contractor and the consultants.

Work Experience
    At least five (5) years’ work experience in construction management involving supervision of builders,
electrical, mechanical, and external civil works.
    Ability to interpret architectural, structural, civil and services drawings.
    Excellent interpersonal skills.
    Ability to prepare daily/weekly site reports.

Qualifications
    At least a Diploma in Architecture or Building Construction Engineering or equivalent.
    Be conversant with ARCH ICAD and/or AUTOCAD.
    Good command of the English and Kiswahili languages.
    Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
