Job Title: Plant Accountant


Minimum Qualifications:

    Grade of C+ in Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education
    Certified Public Accountant Part II or equivalent
    Experience with computers, including Accounting packages, Microsoft Excel and Word Processor
    3 years experience in related field

Reporting to: Plant Manager

Tasks:
Statutory Compliance:
    Ensure that all financial and accounting rules and regulations are met.  This includes corporate and payroll
taxes, licenses, audits, etc.
    Prepare annual financial statements for the Company in preparation for audit and submission to the Board of Directors.
    Produce the daily/weekly/monthly reports to the Board of Directors and General Manager.

Financial Management:
    Advise the Manager and the Board of Directors on all matters of accounts and finance.
    Preparing and monitoring the annual budget along with the Manager and presenting it to the Board of Directors.  Ensuring the goals and objectives of the business plan are met and maintained.
    Ensure accurate accounting documents and books are strictly maintained.  This includes financial reports, books of original entry, journals, general ledger, etc.
    Preparing/Checking both the staff and supplier payroll.
    Maintain confidentiality in all matters relating to the Dairy Plant accounts.

Supervision of Daily Operations:
    Supervising the accounts department by ensuring that accurate and complete accounting, reporting and internal control systems are functioning and that relevant records are maintained.
    Checking and passing all payment vouchers and receipts by ensuring the payments are budgeted for are well supported and authorized. This includes strict controls on supplier advances.
    Ensure strict inventory control on milk received from farmers.

Any other duty as assigned by the Manager and Board of Directors.
