Job Purpose:
Reporting to the Civil Engineering Coordinator, The Field Civil Supervisor will supervise civil contractors and construction work in Northern Kenya to ensure that the construction work is completed safely, on time within
the budget and adhering to Tullow standards. The construction projects will include well sites, access roads and water well, camp sites, buildings, access roads, airstrips, water wells and pipelines, water treatment and wastewater handling systems and sites
 
Key Responsibilities
•    Supervise the operations of contractors on site to ensure that the Tullow receives value for money and quality in accordance to contract specification, applicable industry codes, Tullow standards, and industry wide best practice.
Areas covered include design, construction, operation and maintenance of:
o    Well sites and camp sites
o    buildings
o    Access roads
o    airstrips
o    Water wells and pipelines
o    Water treatment and wastewater handling systems
•    Provide reports and supporting information to Field Civil Coordinator, ensuring that the reports, records, timesheets, and invoices are up to date and properly filed
•    Provide direction to contractors and assist them plan utilization of their resources between projects to optimize work schedules.
•    Assist the Field Engineers and Contractors formulate construction plans, work methods that will improve efficiency and productivity on site  and daily activity schedules that are realistic and workable and will help achieve desired results
•    Focus on safety and safety standards
•    Budget control and management
•    Ensure timely completion of projects

Education and requirements
•    A Bachelor's degree in Civil engineering.
•    Minimum 5 years of experience in construction projects.
•    Excellent communication skills.
•    Good understanding of construction industry and Contract law.
•    Excellent team worker
•    Ability to plan and organize.
•    High focus on environment, health and safety
•    Good verbal and written communication skills
•    Have strong communication skills both verbally and written.
•    Strong focus on quality
•    Fully conversant with MS Office
•    Ability to interpret drawings
