Project officer Jobs in Kenya 2013Farm Africa is a different kind of charity, working to end hunger and bring prosperity to rural Africa.
 
We work with different types of farmers (pastoralists, agro-pastoralist, smallholders and forest dwellers) in a range of regions in eastern Africa. 
 
Their specific situations vary but most are facing increasing economic, health and environmental vulnerability.
We work with them, and other stakeholders, to develop, test, and support the roll-out of successful solutions to achieve long-term improvements in their lives.

We are currently seeking a Project officer – Crops, for the Farm Africa - AMREF Kenya WASH and Food Security Integrated Project.

You will be responsible for the conservation agriculture activities for this project as well as introducing and promoting our tested dairy goat model.

As part of your active role as a key member of the AMREF – Farm Africa partnership project team, you will:
    Liaise with other project staff, developing effective and coherent plans for the agricultural components
    Ensure effective and successful planning, budgeting, management and implementation of agricultural development work within the project
    You will work to build the capacity of the local communities, enabling them to manage their agricultural resources and livelihoods sustainably
 We are looking for someone with a proven track record in farmer participatory research, data collection, entry and analysis with strong project planning and implementation skills and strong communications and facilitation skills necessary to provide field level training.

You will have a relevant diploma level qualification and sound knowledge of the development and policy environment in Kenya.
