Islamic Relief is an international NGO, established in 1984 in the UK, seeking to promote sustainable Economic and social development by working with local communities through relief and developmental activities.

We aim to help the needy regardless of Race, Religion, Color and Gender. Islamic Relief is currently running Programmes in several sectors that include Education, Health & Nutrition, Water &

Sanitation, Livelihoods Support and Child Welfare.

IRK also implements seasonal Food Security Programmes including the Ramadan Food Distribution and Qurbani.

Position: Monitoring and Evaluation Coordinator
Duty Station: Nairobi

Main Duties and Responsibilities
    Devise an M&E methodology for IRK projects, orient staff on the same and ensure its eventual implementation.
    Ensure proper coordination with sectors officers in terms of planning, monitoring, evaluation and reporting with M&E focus
    Assist in the preparation of quality proposals and concept notes to meet the donor requirements.
    Assist the sector officers in undertaking assessments and designing new interventions as appropriate.
    Assist the sector officers to develop programme plans, budgets and resource requirements to meet planned objectives.
    Assist the Area Manager in programmatic and budgetary aspects of the running of the projects, including establishing and maintaining systems to monitor, evaluate and report on the projects based on M&E tools.
    Assist the Programme Manager and Area Manager and the Sector Officers in monitoring and controlling budget and finance issues related to the projects through the M&E mechanism.
    Prepare project reports closely with the sector officers ensuring quality and timely reporting as required by donors.

Person Specification
    A University degree in community development or social studies, 3 years of previous experience in a similar position or project management and M&E of community based project in both emergency and development projects
    Proven analytical skills and ability to think strategically.
    Reporting, planning and M&E skills.
    Previous experience on ECHO, UNICEF, WFP and DFID funded project will have an added advantage
