Real Estate Accountant Jobs Kenya

Our client is a group of companies that has a wide range of investments in hospitality, real estate and agriculture.

Reporting to the Project Director, Group Head of Finance and Trust Administrator; the Accountant will be responsible for all accounting aspects of company operations. He/she will provide leadership and coordination in the business planning, accounting, budgeting and administrative efforts of the company.

Key Responsibilities
•    Compile and analyze financial information to prepare financial statements including monthly and
annual accounts
•    Prepare financial management reports
•    Analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations, to project
future revenues and expenses or to provide advice.
•    Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close
•    Establish and monitor the implementation and maintenance of accounting control procedures
•    Develop, maintain, and analyze budgets, preparing periodic reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs.
•    Compute taxes owed and prepare tax returns, ensuring compliance with payment, reporting and other tax requirements develop and maintain financial data bases
•    Financial audit preparation and coordinate the audit process
•    Appraise, evaluate, and inventory real property and equipment, recording information such as the property's description, value, and location.
•    Ensure accurate and appropriate recording and analysis of revenues and expenses
•    Analyze financial information to recommend or develop efficient use of resources and procedures, provide strategic recommendations and maintain solutions to business and financial problems
•    Develop, implement, modify, and document recordkeeping and accounting systems, making use of current computer technology.

Job Requirements
•    University degree in Accounting, Commerce, or Business Management/Administration.
•    CPA (K) or Chartered Accountant.
•    Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar capacity with a Property Management, Property Development Company.
•    Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, proficiency in accounting software – Sun system and MS Office packages.
•    Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with others both internally and externally to achieve the goals of the organization (team player).
•    Strong communication skills and ability to focus on client needs, plan, organize and solve problems.
•    Ability to work under pressure, with little supervision and focused on meeting deadlines and familiar with the challenges in the real estate and investments industry.
