The company markets and distributes Kiwi, Baygon, Mr. Muscle, Raid, Ridsect and Glade branded products in Kenya.

The following opportunity exists: Marketing Director

Reporting to Director, General Manager - East Africa

Key Accountabilities
Strategy Development
    Portfolio management to maximise local shares and profits based on plans    Decide strategic priorities for local business and cross category investment
    Develop brand media, pricing and promotion strategies in alignment with CoE guidance

New Product Development
    Liaison with Sales to establish commercialisation plans for all New Product Development Current Business Development
    Decide on local business targets and performance standards
    Recommend corrective actions to achieve share and profit objectives
    Oversee local cost savings projects and initiatives
    Maintain broad perspective and knowledge of factors affecting local business

Business Planning

    Lead development of local budget
    Oversee monthly forecasting as part of S&OP process
    Key liaison with local Sales
    Develop local MR plan and liaison with Sales to develop Customer Marketing MR plan
    Responsible for media budget; supervise relationship with media buying agency and auditor

People Management & Development
    Help direct reports create individual development plans
    Train the local marketing team

Experience and Qualifications

    University degree required (MBA preferred), with a minimum of 7 years marketing experience in FMCG environment.
    A minimum of 2 years’ experience in achieving proven commercial results ¡n developing existing brands as well as a minimum 2 years’ experience in launching significant NPD (new launch or significant relaunch) is required.
    Strong awareness of trade customer is essential; some sales management experience is required.
    Participation in, and leadership of, several successful cross-functional teams will be an advantage.
