5 Best Towns to work in Kenya.

Don’t you just wish that you received a job transfer to these towns? I assure you, these are the best towns to include in your transfer request letter that you’ll soon table to your HR manager.

1. Thika
Thika is conveniently located about 50 kilometers, yet will allow you to still enjoy all the benefits of Nairobi. The amenities, the weather are just perfect for you, and besides, even though it is in central, it’s fairly cosmopolitan, and you’ll likely find your tribes mate in the town. The social life of Thika, especially at night is unparalleled. Be warned tough, Thika comes only second to Nairobi in terms of twilight girls. The female students of MKU and other colleges may drain your money before you know it.

2. Nakuru.
Nakuru is a bustling town, a city almost. The life is amongst the cheapest in Kenya, you get green vegetables, not the sewage ones that Nairobians consume. You leave your home ten minutes to time to go to work, as there is no traffic jam. It’s cosmopolitan, and the social life is great. If you want a weekend away to Nairobi, it’s just 2 hours drive away. There are many tourist attractions, so your weekend will not be boring as you imagine.

3. Kitale.
I always say that if you can’t hack life in Kitale, then you can’t hack it anywhere in Kenya. If you are lucky enough to buy a plot in Kitale, have some few cows and plant sukuma wiki at the backyard, then you are set. A salary of 15,000 per month is comparable to a salary 70,000 in Nairobi. During harvesting season, maize is everywhere, so, starvation or going hungry is almost unheard of in Kitale.

4. Mombasa.
Some say Mombasa is only great if you want to spend money, not if you want to make money. But I differ. The laid back nature of the town, the slow nature of people makes everyday seem like a holiday. In effect, you will be on holiday mood every single day, including a Monday. The temperatures can be forbidding though at first, but with time, one gets used to it.

5. Kitengela.
I consider Kitengela to be its own town and not part of Nairobi. You can effectively build your own home in Kitengela, the rent will be zero, get fresh food from the farm, fresh milk from cows, and yet still be able to work in town. If you find a way to beat the traffic jams, then you are set.
